Blue Ridge

The physiographic province of Appalachian division Blue Ridge is popularly known as the Blue Ridge Mountains. The northern and southern physiographic sections of the province divide near the Roanoke River. West of the Blur Ridge mountains, you'll find the Great Valley.

The Blue Ridge Mountains got their name from their appearance as blue magestics when viewed from a distance. The hydrocarbons are released in the air from trees which cause the distinctive color of mountains.

There are two national parks "The Shenandoah" in North and "Great Smoky Mountains" in South. The Blue Ridge Parkway which is a long scenic highway (around 755km long) connects the two parks. So, if you want to have a breath of fresh air, then Blue Ridge is the place to visit.
